WH blocks ambassador’s impeachment testimony; Dems vow subpoena

US House Speaker, Nancy Pelosi says President Donald Trump will be held to account, despite the White House declining to cooperate with an ongoing impeachment inquiry.

House committees have promised to issue a subpoena to US Ambassador to the European Union Gordon Sondland to testify after the Trump administration put obstacles in his way.

The White House calls the inquiry ‘illegitimate’.

But Democrats have warned that any stonewalling would be viewed as an obstruction of justice.
